Organization
POSCO has established dedicated community engagement teams at the Pohang and Gwangyang Works to address both direct and indirect issues impacting local communities. We have also adopted a human rights management policy to safeguard the human and environmental rights of local residents. We actively communicate with local communities and indigenous groups through various channels—including consultative meetings and grievance resolution mechanisms—to foster meaningful participation and uphold accountability.
Regional Communication Council
POSCO operates regional communication councils in partnership with local governments, environmental organizations, academia, and other stakeholders. We use these councils as platforms to gather diverse stakeholder input, which informs every stage of the process—from identifying key local issues to developing improvement plans and monitoring outcomes.
· Frequency: Held 1-3 times per quarter
· Content: Analysis of key local issues; monitoring and promotion of environmental improvement efforts; and updates on environmental investment activities at the steelworks

POSCO’s human rights management framework includes guarantees for the fundamental rights of local communities. To address community-related issues and explore development directions, we hold both regular and ad hoc meetings to facilitate discussion and implementation of appropriate solutions.

Community Impact
POSCO has established procedures to identify, mitigate, and manage any adverse impacts its operations may have on local communities. We apply an ESG checklist from the investment review stage when pursuing new projects to assess potential risks and corresponding mitigation measures. If issues arise despite proactive risk management, we work closely with local communities to develop responsive solutions and monitor their effectiveness.
